Summary

This application was started based on the notion that people want to help one another, and that we could all use a little help every now and then, too. But it can be hard to make those conections. We are making it easier for people to find, share, and engage with others because you never know how the next connection you make will change someone’s life, maybe even your own.

THREE-TIER ‘USER STORY’ MANAGEMENT

Stories are submitted by Users, Admins, or Moderators - able to be displayed as network-exclusive testimonials, or application-wide in our publically-available archived story section. Analytics are tracked on each story, allowing Admins to ‘feature’ select stories for larger circulation.

DISTRIBUTED WEBSITE BUILDER & MODERATOR DASHBOARD

Our Moderator dashboard provides comprehensive functionality for Network (Suntrust, Emory, Church Groups, Private Gatherings, etc.) Moderators to have complete control over their content and user activity.

The website builder available as a premium feature is activated at the Admin level - and allows Moderators to build an unlimited amount of (unique) sub- domain landing pages - able to be easy customized for colors, images and content. These ‘Pages’ can then be customized to target college recruiting events, alumni associations, holiday or special events, etc.

DISTANCE, USER, & NETWORK BASED METRICS

The Metrics engine is cross-referenced on both the front-end (JavaScript - Angular) and back-end (PHP - Laravel) for accuracy and then compiled into Google Analytics for comprehensive reporting. Non-identifiable user traits such as gender, interests, usage frequency, and in-app actions are also recorded and compiled for marketing research.

SINGLE ENGINE, MULTIPLE INTERFACE DEVELOPMENT

Cost-efficiency, scalability and simplicity are all important considerations when designing a web application. We manage all three major interfaces (Android, iOS, and Responsive Web) with a central API that is both validated and secured by our central MVC Framework of choice - Laravel.

Leveraging Cordova and Adobe PhoneGap, we are able to interface with native smartphone functionality with HTML. This leads to faster turnaround time, lower overall costs, and a streamlined deployment process.
